Your aging install base is the best lead list you already own.
May 19, 2026Contractors spend a fortune chasing strangers while sitting on the warmest lead list in the business: the customers they already served. Every system installed 10 to 15 years ago is nearing the end of its life, and that replacement is going to happen. The only question is who gets the call.
If you are not tracking install dates and reaching out before the failure, you are handing that job to whoever the homeowner finds first when the unit dies. You earned the trust, paid to acquire the customer, and then let the replacement walk to a competitor.
The same is true for maintenance. An agreement that lapses without a call is recurring revenue you let go quietly. A member who never gets a renewal nudge becomes someone else's customer.
Pull the list of everything you installed a decade ago and start calling. It is the cheapest pipeline you will ever build, because you already paid for it once.
